3D-printed 7-inch speed quadcopter — 300 km/h, 6.6 kW
A custom 7-inch quadcopter built for outright speed. With a 1 kilogram takeoff weight and roughly 6.6 kilowatts of total installed power, the Sting S is designed around high-pitch props and high-voltage operation to push top speed toward 300 km/h.
The airframe is 3D-printed in PETG around 7-inch propellers, keeping the structure light while leaving room for large motors, high-current ESCs, and a 6S battery. The large 7x8 high-pitch props trade static efficiency for high-speed thrust, which suits a platform aimed at top-end runs rather than hovering endurance.
Each of the four 3110 1150kV motors produces about 4.1 kg of thrust and draws around 1.65 kW at full load, for approximately 16.4 kg of total thrust and 6.6 kW overall. That gives a thrust-to-weight ratio of roughly 16:1 at 1 kg AUW. The 6S setup runs at up to 25.2 V, and the current control link is rated for about 2 km of range.
The quadcopter runs Betaflight firmware, configured for high-speed stability with appropriate filter and PID tuning. The setup prioritises tracking and stability at high airspeed over freestyle agility.
