Hybrid vertical/forward flight aircraft with tilt-rotor mechanism
A custom-designed hybrid VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft that combines the hover capability of a multirotor with the endurance and speed of a fixed-wing platform. A tilt-rotor mechanism enables seamless transition between vertical and forward flight modes.
The airframe is designed from the ground up with full CAD modelling and 3D-printed structural components. The tilt-rotor mechanism uses servo-actuated motor pods that rotate from the vertical (hover) position to the horizontal (forward flight) position, controlled by a dedicated transition mixing algorithm on the flight controller.
The aircraft runs PX4 firmware on a Pixhawk-compatible flight controller, with custom transition logic for VTOL operation. The system supports autonomous waypoint navigation in forward flight mode and precision hover in multirotor mode.
